st. Archangel Michael
Franciskans
is catholic begging Order. His official name is Order
of Less Brothers. It was founded by Francisk from Assizi
in Italy in 1209 and ratified a bull „ Solet of annuere
” on November, 29, 1223 by Papa Gonory ²²² . Soon Franciskansk's
Order got distribution and in other countries of Western
Europe.
The regulation
requirement of poverty belonged in franciskanciv not
only to the members of Order but also to Order on the
whole. Franciskanci lived not in the closed monasteries,
but between people, wandered, poverty and asceticism
preached in language of common folk, engaged in charity.
It was instrumental in their popularity and influx of
offerings.
Arising up in
the counterbalance of of that time church with its riches
and luxury, Order in course of time grew into the reliable
instruments of defence and renewal of Church: franciskanci
conducted a fight against heresy. In 1256 they took
a title teaching in universities.
Franciskans
carried on also missionary activity. In XVI-XVIII ages
they were outcast from some countries.
Presently
is one of influential catholic Orders. There is a row
of higher educational establishments in his conduct,
in particular universities, missionary and eleemosynary
organizations, et al.
At the head
of there is General (General minister) which is elected
on 6 years Order. An order is divided by Provinces,
which Provincials (Provincial ministers) which are elected
also on 6 years are at the head of. Helpers for their
are Vice-provincials.
A province is
divided by the Monastic houses (associations) which
Gvardiani (Abbots) is at the head of, that elected on
3 years. A monastic association is created by Brothers

1454 years of sv. Ivan Kapistran, the name of bernardini
went also, which entered in the name of observanskoy
Province.
